About adult squint surgery (strabismus surgery)
Strabismus, or turned eye, is a very common condition. Many adults had squint surgery performed as children. The turned eye may have been turned either in or out as a child and initially may have been straight following the surgery however over time the eye can 'wander' either inwards or outwards.
Many adults find that their squint makes them feel overly self-conscious in either work or social situations. It is not unreasonable to question whether something can be done to improve the situation.
Often additional strabismus surgery can be performed to further straighten the eye.
Dr Horsburgh is very experienced with adult strabismus and repeat squint surgery, having undertaken extra training whilst training in Australia and overseas.
