About Dr Brad Horsburgh
Dr Brad Horsburgh is an experienced cataract surgeon. He also performs pterygium surgery, adult strabismus surgery and practices comprehensive ophthalmology.
Dr Horsburgh grew up in both country Queensland and in Brisbane, completing his undergraduate medical education at the University of Queensland. He undertook ophthalmic training on the Queensland Training Program before finishing his training within the West England Training Program, Bristol.
He has spent more than 20 years as a Visiting Ophthalmologist (VMO) at the Royal Brisbane Women’s Hospital, teaching ophthalmic registrar trainees. He has also worked at the Mater Children’s Hospital.
Dr Horsburgh is a past President of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Ophthalmologists (RANZCO).
He is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology. He has previously been a Director of both the Queensland and Federal branches of the Australian medical Association.
Dr Horsburgh chaired the Ophthalmology Clinical MBS review committee, as part of the Federal Government’s review of MBS Medicare arrangements 2016 – 2019.
